The Details
How it Works
Cutera’s Secret RF offers the most innovative and novel approach on the market. This device uses microneedles to delivery radio frequency energy into varying levels of the skin, including the deeper layers where the treatment is most beneficial.
Unlike other devices which only deposit energy in upper layers of the skin, Secret RF delivers RF energy below the surface where it is needed most to help revitalize and regenerate the tissue. This unique delivery of energy allows achievement of optimal results, with minimal damage to the skin’s surface and little to no downtime on all skin types.
Treatment Preparation
Prior to the procedure, your provider will apply a numbing cream to the treatment area to increase you comfort during the treatment.
Areas that can be Treated
Face, neck, décolletage. Skin laxity on virtually any area of the body can also be addressed such as arms, legs and abdomen. Provides a very effective treatment for stretch marks.
What it Feels Like
During the treatment, you will feel a slight heating and some pressure on the treatment area. For most patients, the treatment is tolerable but your physician will work with you to maximize you comfort level.
A topical anesthetic will be applied prior to treatment to help alleviate discomfort. Some discomfort and/or pain still may be experienced during treatment.
Expected Results
While most clients will see slight improvements 4 weeks after their first treatment, best results are visible after 3 to 4 treatments.
Typical results include improved tone and texture of the treated area, reduction in scar and stretch mark appearance and reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
Number of Treatments
Most clients receive a series of 3 to 4 treatments. Treatments are administered 4 to 6 weeks apart from one another.
After Care
Post-Treatment
Wait at least 4 hours before washing the treated area or applying soap, cream or makeup.
Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.
Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas, etc.) for at least 1 to 2 days
Avoid skin irritants for a few days after treatment.
Bruising, redness and swelling may occur and resolve with time.
Follow Up
Most patients will require a series of treatments (typically 3 to 4), spaced out 4 to 6 weeks from another.
Your clinician will advise you as to when your next appointment is recommended based on the location and severity of the area being treated.

Side Effects, Risks & Complications
Swelling and redness of the treated area is common and may occur, but usually resolves within a few days.
A persistent spot size pattern may be apparent on the treated skin and usually resolves with time. In rare cases, it may be permanent.
