CoolPeel

CoolPeel is a superficial ablative CO2 treatment performed on our Helix laser. A CO2 laser uses a focused beam of light to heat and vaporize the top layer of skin, removing damaged tissue and stimulating new collagen production, while the heat helps tighten the skin. Because CoolPeel works at the surface, it is our lightest resurfacing option for fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and uneven tone and texture. CO2 Resurfacing

CO2 Resurfacing is the more intensive side of Helix’s ablative treatments. Fusion

Fusion blends ablative and non-ablative energy in a single Helix session. IPL (Photofacial)

Post-Treatment

  • Immediately following treatment, you may notice some minor redness and swelling, similar to that of a sunburn. The level of redness is dependent on the type of treatment and your skin’s sensitivity. If side effects are experienced, most resolve within three to seven days.
  • Avoid tanning or sun exposure without sunscreen.
  • Do not use any strong corrective topical products. Use cleanser, moisturizer and sunscreen until your skin feels calmer.

Darker pigmentation should be expected for the first 2 to 3 days.

The damaged pigmentation will have a speckled appearance which will disappears on its own over time. Foundation easily covers up any speckling that may occur.

Mild swelling may occur. In the rare case that it does, it is typically resolved within a couple hours of the treatment.

Your initial course of treatments (typically 1 to 3) will be spaced 4 weeks apart. Maintenance treatments may be required thereafter depending on each individual client’s needs.

Laser Genesis

Post-Treatment

  • Redness, swelling and/or bruising may occur, but typically resolves within a few hours after the treatment.
  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen.
  • Avoid skin irritants and corrective serums for 24 hours.
  • Avoid excessive hot showers, saunas and spas for 2 days.
  • Consider taking natural supplements or antiviral medications for prevention if you are prone to cold sores.
  • You may apply make-up immediately after the treatment if you desire.

You may experience a minor but tolerable degree of heat or snapping sensation with each pulse of the laser.

Rarely a minor degree of redness and/or puffiness of the skin may occur after the treatment.

  • Your initial course of treatments (typically 4 to 6) are spaced out 3 to 4 weeks from one another.
  • Depending on the client’s goals and the degree of improvement desired, maintenance treatments may be needed.
  • Since, unfortunately, the aging process cannot be prevented and skin will continue to incidentally receive exposure to the environment, continuing to stimulate new collagen is very important.
  • Maintenance treatments every 3 to 6 months will ensure continued skin improvement and optimal results.

Laser Hair Removal

Post-Treatment

Immediately following treatment, minor redness and bumps are common. They may last up to 2 hours or longer. It is normal for the treated area to feel like a sunburn for a few hours.

Bruising and swelling are less common, but may occur and will resolve with time.

Cleanse the area treated gently with a mild soap. Skin should be patted dry and not rubbed for the first 48 hours.

Do not use any makeup, lotion, moisturizer or deodorant for the first 24 hours after the treatment.

Dead hairs will begin to shed 5-30 days after your treatment. Stubble (dead hair being shed from the hair follicle) will appear and then fall out, which is completely normal.

Exfoliate regularly to help speed up the shedding of the hair. Washing and exfoliating, along with shaving, will help the dead hair push its way out of the follicle.

Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen to reduce the chance of light spots for 2 months.

Do not pick, scratch, wax, thread or tweeze the area that was treated during the course of your laser treatments.

Yes

  • Laser hair removal is a great option for almost everyone
  • That being said, the ideal hair type for laser hair removal is dark and coarse

  • White/gray hair

Although uncommon, a superficial blister or scab may develop after treatment.

Infection is very rare because the skin is not broken during treatments.

A series of treatments will be recommended by your clinician and the course of the treatment will depend on the area being treated and the client’s skin and hair type.

Treatments are typically spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart from one another which coincides with hair growth phases.

Laser Vein Treatment

Post-Treatment

Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum sunscreen to prevent further sun damage.

Following your treatment, some bruising, redness and swelling may occur and will resolve with time.

A “bug bite” look is common and usually resolves within 1 to 2 days.

Avoid heat (hot tubs, saunas, etc.) for 1 to 2 days after treatment.

Avoid skin irritants (products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.) for a few days post-treatment.

Patients generally resume most normal activities immediately. However, it is recommended that you avoid vigorous activities such as strenuous exercise for the first 24 hours after treatment.

Clients who received leg vein treatments only:

  • A compression or support stocking (20 to 30 mm/hg) may be advised
  • Avoid high impact activity for 3 to 4 days
  • Hemosiderin staining (brown staining) may occur after treatment and usually resolves with time (1 to 2 years) but, on a rare occasion, may be permanent. Strict avoidance of sun exposure may decrease risk of permanent hemosiderin staining.
  • Large leg veins may take months to resolve and should not be re-treated before then.

Your physician will provide specific instructions tailored to each client depending on the type of procedure that was performed. Please notify your clinician of any concerns.

Although most clients report few (if any) side effects, those most commonly noticed are slight reddening and local swelling of the skin. These typically last for less than 24 hours.

Some patients may experience bruising and, in rare instances, blistering may occur.

Titan

Post-Treatment

Immediately following the treatments, there may be some redness or swelling at the area being treated, which usually dissipates within the hour of by the end of the day and rarely persists for a few days.

You are able to apply makeup or sunscreen immediately after the procedure and may go back to your daily activities.

Laser Toenail Fungus Treatment

Post-Treatment

Bring clean socks and a change of shoes to wear after your treatment.

Keep your nails trimmed and cleaned.

Treat shoes and skin with anti-fungal agents.

Apply anti-fungal creams to and between toes.

Use anti-fungal powder if your feet sweat excessively.

Laser Wart Treatment

Post-Treatment

Immediately after the laser procedure, the treated area turns a gray color and then blackens.

The wart typically falls off 3 to 4 weeks after, once the tissue fully disintegrates.

Over the next several days, you will notice the area healing and the skin texture and tone will return to normal.

The most common side effects are redness and swelling. Occasionally a blister may occur. These side effects are typically mild and resolve within 7 days.

The wound may be painful for a few days after laser surgery.

Recovery time depends on the location and number of warts removed.

Additional appointments and/or treatments are only necessary if the wart does not completely resolve.
